Basic concepts in UFT

In this topic, we will see below concepts in UFT.

• Actions
• Output values
• Checkpoints
• Transactions

Each test can have multiple actions. When you record and save a simple test, 2 actions are generated. You can also add new actions to your test. Action can be considered as a specific functionality of the application. Checkpoints are used to add assertions in the test. Output values are used to hold the data during test run. We can use that data later as the test execution progresses. Transactions are used to perform specific operation in atomic manner. It also allows you to measure the time required to complete the transaction.
