Cameras can be divided into 3 types.
  • Point and Shoot Compact - Lens can not be changed
  • DSLR - Lens can be changed and Mirror is used
  • Mirroless - Lens can be changed and Mirror is not used

Sensor

Image quality depends on Sensor size. Bigger the sensor, more expensive the camera is.

things you need to know before handling camera

  • Can I change lens? If yes attach lens
  • Remove lens cover before shooting
  • Check battery and memory card
  • Set frame rate, video dimensions and image size
  • If you are new, use auto mode.
  • To focus on subject, Half press shutter button
  • To focus on specific object, use touchscreen or manual focus points
  • grid display - liv mode - lcd
  • If you are expert, use manual mode

transition to manual mode

  • take photos in auto mode and check aperature, iso, shutter speed
  • take photos based on preset scene settings
  • try to use similar setting in manual mode + whitebalanace + focus

which settings to change

  • turn off shoot when no lense, memory card, with cover on lense
  • set time and date
  • File format - raw+jpeg and size
  • Frame rate and video
  • dimensions
  • Set back bitton to AF instead of half pressing shutter
  • button or lock AF and AE
  • Disable beeps
  • Take continuous photos so
  • that if some photos are bad, you will at least get some photos right
