Vishwas Chavan - tissue culture success story

Background

Vishwas Chavan from Hatkanangale, Kolhapur comes from the poor background. His parents did not attend any school. Vishwas managed to complete the degree in Agriculture. Once education was completed, he wanted to build his career in tissue culture where he wanted to grow and sell saplings using lab technology.

He needed 25 Lakh loan to set up the tissue culture lab but Bank manager did not approve his loan as his total networth was less than 17 Lakhs including his own land. On one occasion, manager even threw away his file in front of him. But after persistent efforts, he was finally able to convince the bank manager to approve the loan.

In the first year, he struggled as farmers did not buy enough saplings due to severe weather conditions. He also faced financial difficulties during this period but managed to borrow from his realtives and friends.

Current state of business
