Jalindar solaskar Farmer Success Story

Jalindar Solaskar is an Indian Farmer from At-Post -Solshi, Tal-Koregaon, District-Satara He has got many rewards for generating massive yields in his farm. He yielded 70 ton of Tomato in less than an Acre which is exemplery.

Ranghar youtube channel interviewed him in 2021 when he revealed all his secrets.

Jalindar said he is very passionate about farming and keeps on trying new experiments that help him get bumper harvet. In 2012 He tried hydroponic. His success mantra is that we should take crops in harsh weather - mirchi, tomato, karli, dodka. During harsh weather conditions, most of the farmers are unable to protect thier crops. This leds to less supply and high demand and eventually higher prices. This makes sense!!

In his interview, he talked about tomato cultivation in depth. One must follow below steps to grow tomatoes.

• Setup bed and use cow dung.
• give only necessary fertilizers in right proportion.
• Use drip irrigation and paper mulching.
• Once tomatoes are planted, harvesting starts after around 2.5 month.
• Mahad market is one of the major agri market where we can sell produce.
• We should use Tomato variety - 1057 which is suitable for hot weather.
• Tomato crops are affected by Cucumber Mosaic Virus (cmv) and nematode problem. So necessary precaution must be taken.
• It is very important to find the PH of soild and oxide and sulphate base details
• Good quality Water (Balanced PH) is also important for good harvest. One can construct Shet tale, use borewell or vihir. To save water, you should use drip irrigation.

He also highlighted issue of frauds happening in fertilizer sector. Some companies are selling low quality products.
