Cucurbitaceae family crops

Cucurbitaceae is a diverse plant family known as the gourd family. It includes a wide range of crops, many of which are commonly cultivated for their edible fruits. Here are some well-known cucurbit crops:

  1. Cucumber (Cucumis sativus): Cucumbers (also called as kakdi in Marathi or Khera in Hindi) are widely cultivated for their crisp and refreshing fruits, which are often eaten raw in salads or pickled.

  9. Bitter Gourd / Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia): Bitter gourd(also called as Karle in Marathi or Karela in Hindi) has a distinct bitter taste and is used in various cuisines, especially in Asian cooking.

  10. Snake Gourd (Trichosanthes cucumerina): Snake gourd produces long, curved fruits that are used in culinary dishes in some cultures.
