More focus points means camera will focus on the subjects pretty fast. A lens can be put in the Manual or auto-focus mode. When the lens is in manual mode, you have to focus on the subject using focus ring around the len. When the lens is in auto-focus mode, you have to focus on the subject using shutter button. Just press the shutter button half-way and subject will be focused automatically. You can have below types of auto focus modes in DSLR- Auto-focus Single shot (AF-S)
- Auto-focus continuous (AF-C)
