If you are on temporary visa, you will have to get private health cover.

Not all health insurance providers will provide insurance to temporary visa holders. Bupa and NIB are very popular providers among immigrants. If you are PR holder or citizen, private health insurance is optional as you are entitled for a medicare card. With medicare card, you can access free health services in Australia.
