pdr15 exe has stopped working - Powerdirector crashing

My laptop has 2 GPUs - NVIDIA GeForce MX130 and Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620. So I was expecting that Powerdirector should work fine. But to my surprise, powerdirectory kept crashing after 10 to 50 seconds.

Solution

Solution was pretty simple. I upgraded the Intel and NVIDIA GPU drivers. That's it. It fixed my issue In case of Intel GPU driver, driver version was 1 year old and in case of NVIDIA GPU driver, it was 2 month old. I never thought that outdated drivers might cause problem with power director.

How to upgrade the GPU drivers?

You need to follow 2 steps.

• Check the driver date by going to device manager -> Display adapters. Right click on GPU and select properties. Then you can find the driver date in Driver tab.
• Now go to the Intel and NVIDIA website and see the latest driver date. Then if you have older driver, you can download and install it. It is important to install right driver compatible with your GPU model. Otherwise it may corrupt your OS.
