does aws use hyper v or oracle virtual box

AWS (Amazon Web Services) does not use Hyper-V or Oracle VirtualBox for its virtualization infrastructure. Instead, AWS has developed its own hypervisor based on the Xen Project for many years and more recently introduced the Nitro Hypervisor, which is based on the lightweight Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) technology.

The Nitro Hypervisor underpins the AWS Nitro System, which is a collection of building blocks that include hardware offload and security components. This system allows AWS to offer high-performance, enhanced security, and better efficiency for its cloud instances. The Nitro System enables AWS to provide a bare-metal experience even within a virtualized environment, offering customers nearly the same performance as dedicated physical servers.

The choice of developing and using their own hypervisor technologies allows AWS to tightly integrate their virtualization layer with their hardware and global infrastructure, providing a highly optimized, scalable, and secure environment for running virtual machines. This approach is quite different from traditional on-premises virtualization solutions like Hyper-V and Oracle VirtualBox, which are not designed to operate at the scale or with the specific requirements of a major cloud service provider like AWS.
